WWII patch made in NICE France.
« on: August 23, 2020, 10:44:18 AM »
Hi guy's

I hope you are all well.

Here I present 2 patches made in the City of Nice ( south of France) between september 1944 and october 1945.
Those patchs are very rare and not very well know from the collectors because very rare.
The city of Nice was privatised for the US troop as vacation base, and every soldier or officer shall change there full uniforms for new one without
patch on them, and one french military suplier made those badges for the US troops.
The made is with poor material but they are very nice.
Fred

Fred,

Very interesting information..

Would you happen to have any more information about the French supplier? Would be really great to see a wartime photo of these US patches being made..

Really like the flower pattern material on the back of the 26th Infantry Division patch..

The problem for the pics they are in the USA, french people don't made that.
Only a care check on all pics made in south of France can help.
And those patchs are rare in France too.
