Sorry I haven’t been posted on the Forum much lately - things here have been busy to say the least - here’s the latest...
I officially retired from the United States Army on 29 February 2020 with just over 31 years of active service. While this transition was going on, I was offered and accepted a job as the Director of Education and Volunteer Services for the National Infantry Museum Foundation here at Fort Benning. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that runs the National Infantry Museum on behalf of the Army. Not only do I work in one of the most amazing museums in the Army, but I get to teach the History of the Infantry to the Infantry Trainees that come here to Benning to become the next generation of Infantryman.
Talk about being in the right place at the right time.....
It’s a great job that keeps me at 100+mph but I love it. My wife & I are still living “on-post” but now pay rent for our quarters; until we sell our other home in NC, I’m not paying two mortgages LOL
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Museum remains closed to the general public, but is conducting history training for the Infantry OSUT trainees in a “closed” environment; If any of you are ever in the Fort Benning/Columbus area, please let me know!
