Warsaw Pact Field Uniform Poster
« on: May 16, 2020, 11:00:48 AM »
Many of you may remember these posters hanging in the Day Rooms and offices of military barracks and Kaserns in Europe and other places throughout the world. Prior to the Berlin Wall falling and the Iron Curtain coming down, our Adversaries in the Eastern Bloc Countries and Warsaw Pact Nations wore a variety of uniforms and equipment and it was the NATO Forces who had to be able to identify all of the different types of uniforms being worn in the field.

This poster is from DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency) and is dated May 1980.. I recall seeing these and similar posters hanging in our Company area in Berlin.

Now many of these uniforms and items of equipment are part of our collections.. It was readily available in large quantities for mere pennies when the Berlin Wall came down..

Enjoy this step back into time..
