US Army School Badge for Foreign Students
« on: August 29, 2018, 07:19:14 PM »
I thought I would open this thread with a first posting.

This particular badge was given to foreign students from Allied nations that were sent to US Army Schools. This pocket badge was worn to identify students of a particular US Army school and upon completion the student wore this badge to indicate graduation from the school.

This particular pocket badge is for the Air Defense Artillery School and Center. This school was at Fort Bliss Texas until the early 2000's when the school moved to be aligned with the artillery school at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

I also have in my collection a pocket badge for a student attending the US Army Sergeants Major Academy at Fort Bliss, Texas.

Each of the pocket badges utilizes the school Distinctive Unt Crest for that particular school. I have seen Artillery, Ordnance, Military Police, Infantry and other schools.

I don't beleive that these school badges are worn anymore, but I may be wrong. If you have a similar school badge, please post it..

Paul,

These badges were very common in the Army schoolhouses in the 80's 90's and maybe even before. I remember seeing them all the time (The ADA) school badges when we had the United Arab Emirates student at Fort Bliss in the 90s. They may even still have some at some of the other school houses. I also believe that the School of the Americas which handled central and south American countries students at Ft Benning, GA had this type of school badge...
