WWI remembrance, the Lost Battalion

I was in Michigan's Upper Peninsula at the beginning of the week and just across the border with Wisconsin is the small town of Florence. It is practically connected to Iron Mountain Michigan, so I stopped and took a pic of this sign. Florence is the birthplace of Major Charles Whittlesey, the famed Commander of the Lost Battalion.   Scott

That's pretty nice.  Just watched the Ricky Schroeder movie version on TV last week.  Tragic end to his life.
