380th Bomb Group 531st Bomb Squadron
« on: July 16, 2018, 12:25:32 AM »
This beauty came in on Saturday. It belonged to TSGT Don Lake who was a B-24 radio operator. unfortunately it was attached to a reunion jacket... We also received his wings pinned to a reunion ball cap as well as his discharge and a letter to his Father from General Kenney about his award of the Air Medal. Hopefully his Son will find more as he cleans out the estate. He said his Brother has the medals and some photos. Lake was a crewman on B-24 Male Call in the 5th Air Force.   Scott

Nice Scott.  Is it a vintage patch?

Yes the patch is an original, it was later added to this blue windbreaker along with some commemorative pieces.   Scott

Nice find Scott!   My uncle was a Left Waist Gunner in the 532d Squadron of the 381st Bomb Group - sequentially pretty close!

Always looking for quality condition USAAF stationary, ephemera, equipment and clothing.
