A WW2 era Mission to Moscow patch
« on: May 07, 2018, 08:35:24 AM »
Hi all,
A recent find is this Mission to Moscow patch. It has the thin lettering and the proper Eagle design so I believe that this is a WW2 era piece. From what I've read the ones with the thicker lettering and border were made for collectors. It is in great condition and would be tough to upgrade this one.
I have been looking for the WW2 version for awhile and was happy to find it for just under 20 bucks which I felt was very reasonable.

Awesome patch!  Not a patch collector per se but since I collect 4th Fighter Group items and they participated in the Russia Shuttle missions, I too have been on the hunt for one of these.  Great score and congrats!

Thanks Paul.I'll keep an eye out and if I see another one come up for sale I'll let you know. The 4th is an interesting unit that had many Eagle Squadron Fliers.I'm learning more about the Eagle Squadrons and I find them fascinating.
