My Uncle Walter was typical of the Greatest Generation. He was a WW2 Marine who fought on Iwo Jima. He was my friend and mentor. He was a volunteer fireman and active in the BSA. In the 60's he was in a severe auto accident which left him unable to work. He focused his activities on his scouts and started an Explorer Post and named it Jousha Huddys Fifes and Drum. Huddy was a Patriot who was hung by the black hearted English in NJ during the American Revolution.
He also used his hands to carve things out of wood. He and closest friends spent many an hour building Brown Bess Muskets in his cluttered basement. This is one of his creations.
