Battle of Britain First day cover
« on: June 05, 2016, 12:57:48 PM »
Here in the UK , the Royal Mail issue every so often a commerative set of stamps relating to a particular subject . That subject could be from STAR WARS to Beatrix Potter !

In 1965 they released this particular commerative set to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the BoB .

My dear mum  sent me these 2 sets . One is a first day cover and the other a loose set of the stamps

I have always liked this particular set ,for obvious reasons !!

Great imagery on those stamps. I really like the silhouette style, especially that of the Spitfire pursuing the Stuka ;D

Probably very poignant when these were released as the BoB would still be a very fresh memory for many people .
