Early evening on 05 June 1944, North Witham Airfield, England - Pathfinders from the 82d Airborne Division's 2nd Battalion, 505th PIR (Chalk 10) pose with their Army Air Corps flight crew next to the C-47A Skytrain that would take them to Normandy a few hours later - they would land on DZ "O" near Ste Mere Eglise at 0121hrs, 06 June 1944...

The first of many. God bless 'em...and R.I.P. all those who fell and those who survived but are no longer with us. I've visited the Normandy drop zones a number of times and have been privileged to have met several vets who actually jumped on that day of days!

We think alike.  I had just posted something alone the same lines to my FaceBook people.  These men for my generation are our fathers and uncles.  We are lucky to have their DNA.
