Guards Private Sharif Nasyryanov. Line supervisor in the 57th Independent Order of the Red Star Guards Signal Battalion, 10th Budapest Guards Rifle Corps

While serving in the battalion he showed himself a bold, enterprising, energetic, resourceful, and hard-working guards signaller. Serving as a supervisor of telephone lines in the combat zone, he has been carrying out the task of organizing and maintaining uninterrupted and stable communications with distinction and dignity. With his fearlessness and skill comrade Nasyryanov repaired damage to the telephone line in an exemplary manner. Neither artillery fire, nor mortar fire, nor anything else could pose an obstacle in carrying out his assigned combat mission. Comrade Nasyryanov deserves the Medal for Combat Merit.

He served on the Trans-Caucasus Front from August 1942, North Caucasus Front from February 1943, 4th Ukrainian Front from October 1943, 3rd Ukrainian Front from March 1944, 2nd Ukrainian Front from September 1944.

An interesting note about the recipiant. Although from the Mari SSR, Sharif is a Tartar. His name was certainly "Russisnised".
