WW1 Roundel Patch ID Help
« on: March 13, 2016, 06:44:33 PM »
Can anyone ID this patch? It's Dark Blue, Red and White, felt on felt construction. I presume that it's WW1 era.
Thanks,
Scott

You often see these associated with WWI US aviation units, I don't have any specifics though.  Scott
Always looking for 32nd Division items and 13th Armored Division items. Please keep me in mind if you have any.

The standard US Air Service roundel of WW1 and beyond was red/white/blue, in that order (see below). Your example has a very dark blue (or black?) outer ring which therefore differs from the norm. Could be an individual variant I suppose? It does have the crude, hand-made look so typical of these early patches.

Thanks guys. I thought it might be Aero related. I just can't find that particular combination.
