Two-War Vet USMC WWII/Korea

Felt like showing you fine folks one of my favorite tags from the horde.

Robert D. Jackson served as a 745 Rifleman with the 5th Marine Regiment in WWII. He may have made it in time to take part on Peleliu, but I cannot confirm that. He may have come in as a replacement at this time. From there he takes part in the fighting on bloody Okinawa.

In 1950, he shows up with the 7th Marine Regiment, again, as an 0311 Rifleman. In December 1950 he is evacuated to a Naval hospital in Japan. I can only speculate but believe he may have suffered from trench foot, as many of these men did. This would be my second tag to a Chosin vet who was evacuated with no specific injury noted. This tag would date to his Korean War service. Enjoy gents!

 is he still with us?
in the beginning of change, the patriot is a scarce, brave, hated and scorned man. when his cause succeeds, the timid will join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.

I'm unaware, unfortunately. It was lucky that I got him on the muster rolls with such a common name, but so far no luck on if he is still around.
