Shpagin PPSh-41 submachine gun
« on: December 18, 2015, 07:50:33 AM »
Saw the Russian sub-forum here with no posts, thought I'd be the first one.
I got this "deactivated" and/or nutered Shpagin PPSh-41 submachine gun for some horse trading, also a AK47 with folding stock, but it belonged to the evil Empire, so I can't show that one. Some info; http://world.guns.ru/smg/rus/pca-41-e.html
Couple pics.

Hey Pat, that's an iconic weapon for sure. Must have been tough on the Germans to face entire regiments armed with sub-machine guns! The ammo consumption must have been prodigious!!

You'll see alot of photos of ww-2 of German soldiers in and around the Russian Front armed with the PPSh-41 submachine gun, because they were so robust, even Feldwebel Steiner liked them. ;)
This website says; "As late as 2009, U.S. troops in Iraq reported capturing PPShs in insurgent weapons caches."

Looks like its fun to shoot too.

The North Koreans were amply supplied with them too. The US troops called them "burp guns"!

Very nice weapon.  It always pains me to see deactivated weapons.

You and me both, I'm originally from Washington State, "God's country", and back in the day, load up the pick up with our guns & beer,
head out to a gravel pit somewhere way out where and kill empty beer bottles. Don't get better then that!  ;)

Shooting rats in the dump is also fun.
