Fighter Losses of the Mighty Eighth

This is a chronological survey of Spitfire ,P38,P47and P51 losses of the 8th AF between July 42 through to April 45    it details the MACR place of loss , pilots name  and so on

If you have the date of a fighter loss from the 8th   it will be in this book

Just give me a shout if you need any info

Can you tell us how many fighter aircraft and pilots were lost?

I most certainly can

aircraft losses were

21 spitfires   266 P38's   529 P47's  and 1235  P51's
2018 and STILL WANTED! a pair of RAF 1940 Patt boots and RAF life vest
Always looking for quality condition USAAF stationary,ephemera,equipment and clothing.
Starting to look for the harder to find items e.g. survival kits and items also woukd like to add a complete "Gibson Girl " set up

The book mentions that over 1000 pilots of the 8th fighter command gave the ultimate sacrifice , going down alone  :'(

Thank you sir.  I don't believe enough attention historically has been given to the staggering loss's in aircrews during the war.
