Sadly I know some people who would probably hang them on thier tree. :-[
Well, the swastika was supposed to be a good luck charm of sorts, didn't bring Adolph any.
Ian, are you related to E. Phillips mentioned in here?  :o

Long lost Cousin Ernie?!  Errrr...no, 'fraid not Pat!   ;)   The traditional "good luck" swastika was hi-jacked by the Nazis and in their hands became a very potent symbol, now forever tainted because of that.

I should add that I think the "SS" connection is no more than press hype. To put these baubles in context...at the time, the NSDAP  was the ruling party in Germany. A whole range of domestic items from crockery to decorative ornaments and toys bearing Nazi symbols were manufactured and sold to the general public...just a someone today might have a coffee mug with a Republican elephant or Democrat donkey on it. It's only since WW2 that it's become universally recognized as a symbol of evil.

And the SS did not celebrate Christmas.

They worshiped the Yule Fest.

I've been picking in the USA for over 40 years.

You wouldn't believe how many people think that the pre 1930's good luck pieces are Nazi items.

One item in particular stands out: a woman's bracelet with an expanding spidel type band.

The center piece is is a round locket with a rhinestone swas. on it.

It's a gold plated piece of costume jewelry of which I have found several.

A well known American dealer passed one of these off as belonging to Eva Braun.

It turned up on one of those picker shows where a lady claimed she paid 200,000 for it.

Correct colours for the NSDAP badge. Small pieces of history, nothing more. No reason to "freak out".
