Agreed...and let's see if we can't get some of our more "passive" members to begin posting their own threads too. The more the merrier, as the saying goes!

I'm all in!
I have been out there searching the scrubs looking for collectors to ask. I no longer can log-in anywhere to ask others, but the bushes generally scare up a few guy to ask.
And once by God, I was a Marine!

I have added a new member group to the forum. In HONOR of the first 100 members of the forum, the word "PLANKOWNER" appears by your name. In the case of members who already have titles, this name does not appear, we will work to make that happen if it is possible.

Thank you for your trust and hard work to make this happen!

FL.....can you explain the significance of the term "Plankowner" please?  I assume it's meant to indicate a kind of "founding father" in the context of the forum,  but it's not a term that's familiar to those of us over here in the ol' country! Thanks!

Tommy.....When a US Naval vessel was newly commissioned, the original crew members who went through all the "shake down" cruises, and finally the commissioning were called "Plankowners". As such each of them was given a small piece of a mahogany deck plank to commemorate the occasion of the commissioning. This was a measure of pride to be part of the original crew to get the ship seaworthy.

I don't want to take the credit for the idea of the original 100 members being Plankowers, I just followed Kohima's suggestion!! :)

Plankowners! I thank you for your williness to give us a chance and your continued support. There may be room for a few more as I go over our memberlist. We have some that are suspected spammers or have not come back since requesting membership.

You are all an appreciated part of building this forum and I look forward to some increased posting and suggestions.

I will also get with FL, to see what else we can come up with to show our appreciation to the founding 100.
