Hello from Detroit!
« on: May 07, 2014, 05:12:37 PM »
Hey all, glad to be here. I was referred by ScottG. My name is Jay. My username is for my Grandfather, Harry J Strasz who served in the Army Air Corps in WWII. I concentrate on WWII items that belonged to Michigan guys. My collecting focus has improved leaps and bounds since first joining a couple of the online Militaria forums a few years back. I mainly stick with WWII, but dabble in WWI and Vietnam stuff if I come across it. I work full time as a Police Dispatch and Lockup Supervisor. When im not working (and sometimes when I am!) I am constantly following up leads, looking for new ones, or out hitting the streets at estate sales, garage sales, flea markets, etc. Believe me, the good stuff is still out there! It just takes a little work

Hello and Welcome Jay!

Pickers seem to find some of the coolest stuff hidden away in estates. It does take a lot of effort and sounds like you have a good method to keep it going. I look forward to your finds.

LB, i have some pics up in the Display section.

Estate sale / Garage sale picking is pretty good in my area. We have an extraordinary number of Vets from WWII - now who settled around here.
