Nice.  Can the weapon be operated by a left handed shooter?

I believe they overcame that issue some time ago.

For some reason, the British Army has been hung up on the bullpup design.

What happens if your right eye is injured in the middle of combat ?  For battle, you need a rifle that can be fired from both shoulders and trained to do so.
Also, you can't always fire from behind the right side of a building, vehicle, tree or boulder.

Personally, I have no desire to rest my face directly on a rifle's receiver when I'm shooting it.

Here is the answer to my question.
Left handed people shoot the SA80 in the right handed position.
The SA80 is designed solely for right handed users. The ejection port is on the right side and so if used in the left hand brass will burn your face. Also the cheek rest is on left side so you can rest right cheek upon it to aim. However, as has been stated, it is such a well designed rifle that learning to shoot right handed is easy.
However the flaw with only right handed shooting has been shown up during CQB situations like when soldiers need to peer round corners.
I hope this helps.
