If y'all haven't read this book, you should. It's a definitive account of the battle.

Yes, another great book Leigh! I'm a big fan of Anthony Beevor...I have all of his military histories. Along with Max Hastings, they are the two best modern military historians / authors writing today.... IMHO. ;)

Not funny Scott......the fact that these Paratroopers, as well as many other Soldiers, in the frozen hell of the Ardennes, still were humble enough to take the time to pray.....

I totally agree Chris and it was more sarcasm than humor. I think that all of those serving deserve the amount of respect that a few guys got because of a mini-series. 32nd Division had 654 days of combat, no movie, little recognition... They were in combat before the marines at Guadalcanal and after the surrender.
11th Airborne, more campaigns and jumps than most European counterparts, 5th and 13th Air Forces, the Ploesti raiders, yet the new series will only be the 8th. So, no slight against the prayers, just my cynicism. It is a great photo btw. Scott

And I might add that since they are on the ground they are infantryman ;). Hope you are having a great new year and laughing at this. Scott

this is a pic of a restored WW2 jeep and trailer, marked for Chaplain service, with an original WW2 Chaplain kit set up on the hood, similar to what the SGM showed in his historic museum photo.

a better version of the picture.
