WWII Heritage Days - Peachtree City, GA 22APR17
« on: April 30, 2017, 05:34:55 AM »
Drove about an hour north from Fort Benning last Saturday for the WWII Heritage Days Airshow & WWII Reenactment, sponsored by the Dixie Wing of the Commemorative Air Force;  Guest of Honor was LTC Dick Cole, last surviving member of the Doolittle Raiders and Jimmy Doolittle's Co-Pilot for the raid.

Hadn't done any type of reenacting or living history in quite a while, so dug out a few things I could throw into a kit bag & headed up - great show (even though the battle reenactment was a bit lame) & looking forward to next year's event!

Great looking display Chris! There used to be a retired soldier, Captain if I recall, that set up a great display in his front yard every year in Columbus. I stopped in a few times and he really went all out, filling nearly the entire yard with mannequins and other goodies. I think he did it for the 4th of July but its been a while. Maybe you know or have heard about him?   Scott
