RAF DFC Ribbon
« on: April 28, 2017, 09:42:26 AM »
Need a little help from my friends and allies "across the pond".  I am in need of an RAF DFC ribbon.  Authentic would be perfect but a repro would also fit the bill.  If anyone knows where I can acquire one or even if someone has one in their "spares or parts" box, the info or ribbon would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Paul

Carl,

That would be great!
The reason one is needed is good fortune has smiled on me once again and I was able to acquire the US uniform jacket of a former 71 Eagle Squadron pilot.  He "gifted" this jacket to a gentleman I know and years later this gentleman gave me "first dibs" when he decided to sell it.  In his letter of provenance to the fellow he mentions that he can not find his pilot wing and DFC ribbon which he wore on the jacket.  The attached photo of him shows him wearing what I believe is the tunic I now have.  Two things to notice, first is he is wearing his RAF DFC ribbon and no other awards.  The 2nd is on his jacket he is not wearing the winged prop collar insignia.  I'll post photos when complete but in the mean time I'll see if anyone out there recognizes him.
