Here's one I learned when I was working construction here with some Irish & Englishmen, "Got a fag"?
And/or, "You have a cigarette for me"?
Or, "I was pissed as a rat", and/or "I was very intoxicated at the time".

"Cool" is an American import due to the influence of pop culture.

So I chose the "School of Hard Knocks".
