RAF Pilots' Flying Manual, c.1949
« on: July 10, 2016, 09:59:38 AM »
I came upon this original RAF manual recently. It contains a ton of info! Although dated 1949, the flight clothing is not too dissimilar to late WW2 gear. I've scanned the clothing section for the benefit of those of our members who collect this stuff. Enjoy!

If you could post some pictures of the parachute gear, that would be great.

My pleasure David. I knew the RAF / RAAF collectors out there would find its contents of interest. It's a fascinating manual, dating from the time when the RAF was making the transition from piston-powered to jet aircraft hence the inclusion of Meteors and Vampires...plus Spits, Sea Furies and Tempests etc.
