Here's one of my "pink" caps. British-made (insignia too)  A little moth damage unfortunately, but such caps are rather scarce so that's acceptable!  The braid is non-metallic, just black / gold silk or rayon.

That "PINK" one looks very nice Lee !! ;)
2017 and STILL WANTED! a pair of RAF 1940 Patt boots
Always looking for quality condition USAAF stationary, ephemera, equipment and clothing.
Starting to look for the harder to find items e.g. survival kits and items also woukd like to add a complete "Gibson Girl " set up

Yes I think that's my favourite to be honest.

Also like this one which I think is an enlisted mans USAAF

Yes it does look like an enlisted mans USAAF , but im sure Ian will confirm with me , that the "Chemical " BOS braid is very very similar. Is that not so Ian ??

Indeed it does look similar and is often mistaken for USAAF. It's actually cobalt blue and yellow, whereas the AAF is aquamarine and golden orange. Side by side the difference is obvious, but apart sometimes not so. I have examples of almost every b-o-s braid on garrison caps. If there's any colour you'd like to see, let me know and I'll post it. ( They're in storage in a box up in the loft so I'd have to seek it out first!)

Lee...FYI here's an officer's "pink" visor hat...scarcer than the garrison caps!
