Camera Type K25
« on: June 26, 2016, 02:46:52 PM »
The collecting gods have yet cursed me again !!
Type K25  aircraft camera .Which looks pretty much like NOS !!
From what little research i can find at the moment , these were used for high altitude photographic purposes using a 4 X5 film (?)

If there are any photography aficionados amongst us , their help would be appreciated

David , maybe the amount of US NOS is due to the fact of the amount of production that the US did during the war years ?
NOS is somthing I like to collect  :)

No doubt LB. You blokes certainly can churn out the goods ;)

I'm currently reading 'Whirlwind - The Air War Against Japan 1942-1945' by Barrett Tillman (very good book by the way) and its pretty evident that what ever was needed, wherever it was needed, the US just made it happen with that famous 'can do' attitude and in massive quantities.

Apparently this particular type of camera was installed on the pylons of P47's and maybe other aircraft ? .
I have now got my head buried in the Internet to try and find out more about this particular piece of kit

LB, I have a medal group that belonged to a photographer from the 5th AF. I wish it was from the 8th, I know you would like it.
