British Insignia from the museum clean out
« on: February 04, 2016, 03:22:15 PM »
Well guys, what have I got here? What is good in your opinion and outside of the obvious, what are they all for? I will likely be offering them for sale so feel free to PM me if anything is of interest. As in my museum sale thread, all proceeds go to the museum, so I am hoping to offer a good deal, yet still raise some money for the museum.

First up, wings and things!  Scott

Pips, crowns and buttons. If anyone needs something specific I am happy to look, but I would recommend you send mean image with the size of the item. Scott.

What is the insignia with the arms in a circle holding clubs and the letters PTI? I have seen this one before but cannot recall what it is..

For some reason I keep thinking it is Italian???

The badges from what I can see.  I can't tell if they are good or copies so cant give values.  some look good, some perhaps not, a few I don't know what they are.

a, army staff officer and/or colonel/brigadier, if real 10-15 perhaps more
b & c, not sure field marshal shoulder board cloth insignia?  no idea
d, RAF officer pre 1953, looks ok, 10-15?
E, G & H, field marshal cap badges, might be good, can't tell from the pics, these are faked to death, 10 if fakes, not sure if real, more than 20, but no real idea, they might be a lot more if they are real
F, General cap badge, same comments as above
I & J, Senior RAF officers, could be good. Same as above, no idea of value, 20 or more?
K, no idea, not british IMO.4
L sgt magor /WOI wrist badge, 10?
M, officer training unit cap badge or infantry I don't recognise straight away. 5-10
N & O, WOII arm badge, a few quid each for these so I assume they are good. A couple of quid each.
P, unclear british cap badge, I can tsee the detail, ASC?  all british metal cap badges are faked/copied, most are cheap, a fiver or so.
Q,   Grenadier guards or early RE/RA, cap or collar, probably real, a few quid up to a tenner.
K & S, army Jewish chaplain, again faked, but perhaps good, no idea of value, 10 or more each?
T Royal flying corps, pre 1919? probably a fake as its on a slider, so a few quid if that?

Some are of interest to me, but it depends if they are real and what the prices are?

It is great to share information with fellow collectors and especially when there is an area of collecting not familiar with..

Great stuff..
