Careless Talk WW2 Poster
« on: March 30, 2014, 03:14:29 PM »

I try to limit my posters in my collection to half-sheet size (roughly 20"x 28"). Now and then I'll cave and buy one bigger or smaller (or sometimes I don't read the description carefully). Here's one I just picked up and it's a 14"x 20" and somewhat hard to find. If this poster didn't get the message across to wartime John Q. Public then nothing would. Art by Wesley Heyman.

Now that is a solemn message. Great poster and really a piece of the time. Could you imagine if they had facebook back then  :o

I've seen several loose lips posters, but this one...hits home! :'(

Classic design! Years ago, I used to subscribe to a British published history of WW2 part-work. On the back cover of each issue was a reprint of a classic WW2 poster. I clearly remember them because I framed and mounted a number of favourites...this was one of them!
