D-Day Alternative
« on: March 28, 2014, 07:05:07 AM »
Guess this is the place to add an Event?
If you can't make it to Normandy France for the 70th Anniversary, they're having a D-Day Event in Switzerland the weekend of June 6th -8th.

Ian, I won't make this one, saving my pennies for another one in Sept.. ;)
Couple of my Swiss buddies will be going to the "real" Normandy in June, they'll be jumping as US paratroopers.

No? OK...fair enough. I'll be over there for D-Day week too...staying over at Ken's place.  ;)

The Historic Flight Foundation at Paine Field in Everett, Washington is having a D-day event Friday, June 6th and Saturday June 7th. They already have 400 re-enactors and they're going to have an area where all of them can set up and stay overnight. They're also going to have a stick jump from a C-47 plus lots of other vintage military aircraft. Our local group, the HAG (Historic Aviation Guild), will be there along with several army, aaf, airborne, etc. re-enactors from all over the NW U.S. and Canada. It should be a great show.

I'll have to tell some of my buddies back home about this one up in Everett, if they don't already know.
I used to do some house framing around there after I got out of the army in '75.
