Rare British-made USAAF wings
« on: June 19, 2014, 01:09:30 AM »
Some of you will have already seen the A2 jacket which I customized and posted previously. I decided to add some silver wings and selected some rare British-made ones from my collection. These have highly detailed feathering and lug / cotter-pin attachments, typical of British-made metal insignia, but unusual on made-for-US wings, therefore they are quite scarce and highly collectable. This type of fitting enables the wing to be held securely and flat against the jacket, rather than "drooping" as brooch-pin wings tend to do.

Glad someone eventually noticed them!   ::)   You'll be hard pressed to find another set. They're as rare as hen's teeth.
