Normandy 2017
« on: October 07, 2017, 05:51:03 PM »
Lads-

Just got back from a week in Normandy - absolutely brilliant time all around

My Stepmother & her husband (my Dad died in '97 & she remarried) have a tour company & asked me about 8 months ago if, "..I'd like to be a tour guide for about 12-15 people in Normandy.."

Twist my arm, right?

Due to scheduling, the group was already in France for 4 days when I linked up with them on 22SEP in Fresné-la-Mère - due to our location, we started "in reverse" at Mount Ormel / Falaise Gap, then did Pegasus Bridge, Sword-Juno-Gold Beaches, Bayeux, Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc, La Cambe German Cemetery, Utah Beach, Ste Mere Eglise, la Fiere, and Mont Saint-Michel, over the course of a week

Honor of meeting Henri Jean Renaud, who was 10 years old on D-Day & his father Alexandre Renaud was mayor of Ste Mere Eglise

Working on a Flickr page for the 400+ photos I took - will post link once I get it completed

AIRBORNE!

Always a beautiful trip and some places like Ste mere Eglise just seem timeless. Someday I will get back...Thanks for sharing CSM and it looks like you are set up for a fantastic post service career in being a battlefield guide! A dream job for sure.   Scott
