Thanks you gents!

Scott, I know of Gary Boegel but have not spoken with him.
He published a book on 1 Can Para called Boys of the Clouds.

His nationality is shown as British as he was a landed immigrant, a person who has been admitted to Canada as a non-Canadian citizen permanent resident.

I remember Gary doing interviews with vets and he helped me to make sure the sum of all of my parts were original Canadian and not repro or post war. I haven't spoken with him in perhaps 25 years, but he did have an exceptional collection of para items and a great knowledge as well.

Here is an excerpt from "AIRBORNE" regarding Insole.  " At Canadian Headquarters, it was decided to send a party back with the Russians to make contact on their lines. Lieutenant Pete Insole, Andy Anderson, Private "Doc" Warnock and a Private Dyock, who spoke Polish and some Russian, took off with the Russian party, eventually finding themselves being feted at a full banquet table piled high with caviar and dozens of vodka bottles by a bemedalled general and young Russian women soldiers. The Canadian contingent barely survived the feast to make it back to Wismar, where two of their numbers, Insole and Dyock, immobilized by booze, were carried unconscious to their beds." P.187.

Great stuff, Insole had some one of a kind experiences for sure! Scott

Good day all,
Coles Notes:  I am the great grandson of Lt Peter Insole.  Well at least one of many.  I recently found this page dedicated to him and am glad to see so much information.  I was hoping that there was more out there, photo's mainly of him.  Something to show more of what he did.

Thank you in advance.

Canadian citizenship, as a status separate from British nationality, was created by the Canadian Citizenship Act, 1946, which came into effect on 1 January 1947.
