Finally i have managed to get hold of one of these pieces of equipment ! and it was located only about 20 miles down the road from where i live !  which is pretty strange as we live so far North of any of the USAAF bases .

It does have a name and ASN printed on it , and im currently waiting on Geoff at Golden Arrow to come up with any information regarding him .

Too funny Carl.  I just got myself a really nice pilot's navigation kit for my pilot.  I needed a place for those MTO maps to fit.  Filling in the pieces to go with it too.  Looks like the USAAF guys are on a roll lately :)

While having another look at this case ,and researching as to what I need to complete it , I noticed a peculiarity with it .
The side pocket which has the guys name on it is only one piece of material in thickness .But the other side pocket is 2 pieces thick . I checked the inside to see if there had been any holes or tears and nothing to be found .
One corner of the said panel , the corner stitching had come adrift , so I duly shone my small torch inside and I can see what looks like writing/graffiti ? Written on what would have been originally the outside of the case .
Now ! Do I carefully remove the panel or what ??!!!
