Indeed on all counts.

I watched a bridge too far just the other day.

A shame this beret was not named as to have this rank in the 1950's he must have been a veteran of WWII.

Scott,

Learned something new today.. Was not aware that the Japanese used muzzle covers.. Intersting

Smitty

They come in brass and bakelite Smitty. They are not too difficult to find, but they are rarely with a vet bring back rifle. Learning more about this stuff we love is what keeps the hobby interesting and fun for me.   Scott

Jerry,

Very nice.. I always think of Sean Connery in A Bridge Too Far wearing his beret as Roy Urquhart.. One of my favorite characters in the movie

If this could only talk..

Very nice...

MISC ITEMS / WWI matchbox covers

Two examples of the British matchbox covers made during both wars, these are both regimental types and are very hard to find.  The SWb example dates to between the Boer War and WWI, whilst the other for the Welsh dates to mid WWI.
