Rob,
I have a 45th ID uniform.  The jacket is named to a J Hagen. The shirt is patched identically to the jacket and has a laundry tag H5968.  From that I was able to find Joseph J. Hagen 33375968.  I was wondering if your documents have any reference to this individual, and maybe what unit he served in.  I would like to request records for him, but would like to be more certain before I spend much money on it.

Thanks,

Steven

Working offshore you get to meet and work alongside many different nationalities, one of my colleagues is a great fella called Rocky who lives in Elephant Butte, New Mexico.........I had to look that up to make sure he wasn't pulling my leg!!  ;D

Anyway he sends me a message whilst we're off crew and says he's rescued some items out of a skip/dumpster, some Army uniforms he said and he'd bring them out with him if I wanted.  He told me he had known the old fella but not very well and that he'd recently passed away, the family had basically thrown out all his belongings and taken everything else of value.  I told him to bring them out and I'd get him a drink, seemed a shame to just let them go off to the tip!

I think this veteran must have served with the 45th Infantry Division in Korea, Rocky seemed to think he'd been in since the later part of WWII but couldn't confirm.  Not entirely sure what the other faded medal is.........assuming one is for Korea?  :-\

There was also a USAAF tunic in the skip with the 45th Inf Div, Rocky believed it belonged to the same fella........is it possible he'd have served in both I've no idea!  :-\

I had these items hanging around the house for some time and as they didn't really hold a lot of interest for me at the time I gave them to a friend who has put them on his ebay shop.  Shame really but there you go, better than in a skip I suppose!  :)

I was wondering if you could possibly help with finding out some info on my father. He was in the 45th Division and served in Sicily and Italy. I unfortunately do not know which regiment he was in.

Thank you in advance of any info you can provide.
