USCG Picket Boat, S-4 Rescue Attempt, Cape Cod 1927
« on: November 17, 2017, 08:04:25 AM »
As part of my display to commemorate the attempted rescue of the crew of the USN submarine S-4, which was lost off Provincetown, MA in December 1927. I carved a 1/72 model of the Coast Guard picket boat CG-2339.  Under the command of Boatswain Emmanuel Gracie of the Coast Guard Station Wood End, this little boat labored for hours in rough seas dragging a grapnel to finally locate the stricken sub so that rescue efforts could commence.

Great work Jean.

Thanks for posting.
Some will die in hot pursuit and fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit while sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche coming down the mountain.....
